The iPad Mini on specs is a 7.9" display with screen resolution the same as iPad 2, so I'd say no retina but Apple says the iPad 2 10" display is retina when scaled to the Mini's 7.9" display. The last Apple media device with the word "Mini" was back in the early 2000s with the release of the Apple iPod Mini. Since then, "Mac Mini" has also been introduced.
Yet, after all that, the iPad Mini is a refreshing approach following the design of the new iPhone 5! It is an interesting device. Having used the new iPad, the biggest downfall is the screen resolution after using retina devices. The win, the price tag.
So, after all that, what are your views of the iPad Mini, considering the only difference between that and previous generations is a smaller screen...and price tag!
